I added 9 HQs of Sarah with Gerard Butler at the TIFF press conference for “Beowulf & Grendel”. Our girl was looking great, happy and relaxed.

I uploaded another video clip of “Beowful & Grendel”. It’s the preview trailer that was released when the film was still on production. I know it’s a bit dark, but it is originally like that. Don’t forget that today is the film’s world premiere!

There is a LOT going on is Miss Polley’s world lately and I’m very pleased because for months it has all been very quiet around here. I hope you’re enjoying the updates as much as I am.

Sarah Polley is speaking out in support of a new book from a Newfoundland native.

Roots of Empathy: Changing The World Child By Child, written by Mary Gordon, is a classroom program that encompasses a new approach that fosters emotional literacy in children in order to build more respectful and caring relationships, to reduce levels of bullying and aggression, and to pass on a legacy of empathy to future generations.

Sarah will be attending the Toronto book launch of Ms. Gordon’s book, at Indigo Books, Manulife location. Sept. 27.

This is what Sarah said about the program.

“I had the great privilege of experiencing first hand Mary Gordon’s method of communicating with and engendering empathy and emotional literacy in children. There is nothing in the world I feel more grateful for. I believe it is the main reason why I became an artist and social activist.”

At the moment, you can hear Sarah sing and view a clip from Canadian television previewing “Beowulf & Grendel” encoded by Emerald at GerardButler.Net. Captures can be found in the gallery.

“Beowulf & Grendel” will be screened at the Atlantic Film Festival (Halifax, Canada) on September 17 and at the Vancouver International Film Festival. No schedule information is available yet. It is now also scheduled to screen at the Calgary International Film Festival. It will be the closing night Gala film on October 2. No word on cast members expected to attend the screening.
